Program Description:
The program will improve literacy in the lives
of those in the community who are at a
disadvantage including those for whom
English is a second language. The program will conduct workshops and initiatives such as: publishing and distributing books ("Soul Butterfly"), using the Arts to promote literacy, teaching basic computer courses ("Everyday Technology Integration"), book drives and other events.
Mission:
To enable those in the community who are at a disadvantage including those whose native language is not English, to acquire the necessary basic skills in reading, speaking, and writing English and basic computer skills thereby empowering them to participate more fully in the daily tasks of family, school, job and community.
